Chef Gonzalo Vidal presents Libertango at the Costao Gastronomic Festival

Based in Brazil, the Argentine chef wraps up the event's schedule at the All-Inclusive resort located in Florianópolis

Based in Brazil, Argentine chef Gonzalo Vidal is the guest for the closing of the Costao Gastronomic Festival this Saturday, October 5th. A native of Santa Fe, Gonzalo presents the "Libertango" dinner, exclusive for guests, at the Nossa Senhora da Vitória Restaurant located at the Hotel Internacional of the Costao do Santinho Resort, in Florianópolis.
Gonzalo combines diverse influences with an oriental inspiration, creating bold dishes like crudos, tiraditos, and tartares using lesser-known fish that arrive fresh in the nets daily. The Argentine chef led the 74 Restaurant at Hotel Casas Brancas in Búzios (RJ) from 2018 to 2023, a restaurant recently added to the 50 Best Discovery list (an extension of the prestigious award). Prior to that, still in Búzios, he was part of the team at Cigalon and managed the Místico Restaurant at Pousada Abracadabra for three years. In Rio de Janeiro, he worked at Quadrucci as sous chef under Ronaldo Canha and at Zot Gastrobar.
Gonzalo is the ninth and final guest chef to participate in the Costao Gastronomic Festival, which was created to celebrate the culinary art of Santa Catarina and the world, providing even more unforgettable experiences at the Costao do Santinho Resort. The event started on August 3rd and continues until October 5th, every Saturday, with the participation of renowned guest chefs: Dudu Poerner, Filipe Duarte, Thiago Maeda, Matheus Zanchini, Roberto Bocabello, Thiago Chiericatti, Willian Vieira, Edson Yamashita, and Gonzalo Vidal.
"We are concluding yet another Costao Gastronomic Festival with a taste for more. Until now, there have been nine Saturdays dedicated to diverse gastronomic branches that our guests were able to appreciate and experience memorable moments. Chef Gonzalo Vidal is coming to close the festival splendidly, and we also congratulate the entire F&B team at Costao for sparing no effort in ensuring the satisfaction of our guests and invited chefs," highlights Daniela Rocco, commercial and marketing manager at Costao.

The Costao Gastronomic Festival program invites guests to experience a wide variety of flavors and textures from around the world, starting in Santa Catarina and traveling through France, Italy, Argentina, and Japan. All meals will be paired with drinks (wines, sparkling wines, spirits, and beers), adding even more colors and flavors to the table. In addition to the participation of guest chefs, the Costao Gastronomic Festival includes the participation of resort chefs in gastronomic reinterpretations at the Nossa Senhora das Ondas Restaurant. On Saturdays, during lunch, they lead the culinary station Inspirations, offering one of the renowned dishes from the chefs participating in the festival.
